Berlin Clock 4.2

The Berlin Uhr, often referred to as the "Set Theory Clock," is arguably the most famous clock in the world. It was designed by Mr. Dieter Binninger in the 1970s and originally constructed for the city of Berlin. From 1975 to 1995, it stood prominently on Kurfürstendamm in Berlin. Today, the original can be seen at the Berlin Europacenter. The clock displays time through a series of illuminated symbols:

• First row – each lamp representing five hours
• Second row – each lamp representing one hour
• Third row – each lamp representing five minutes; every third lamp is colored red to highlight quarter-hour marks
• Fourth row – each lamp representing one minute

Although initially unfamiliar, observers quickly adapt to this unconventional method of time display and can read the clock as easily as a standard watch. It has achieved cult status and is considered a must-see for both Berlin residents and visitors alike.

Recently, it has become possible to carry the Berlin Uhr digitally on the Apple Watch, allowing users to experience this unique way of telling time directly on their wrist.
